Smart Energy Management

Our building is equipped with smart systems that automatically adjust heating, air conditioning and hot water production according to outdoor conditions. Sensors installed on the windows automatically switch off the heating or air conditioning when a window is left open.

When outdoor temperatures exceed a certain threshold, our boilers are automatically put into standby mode. Hot water production is then provided by our 120 m² of solar thermal panels, allowing us to make use of solar energy and reduce our overall energy consumption.

Our domestic hot water is also produced using a plate heat exchanger system, which recovers heat from the heating circuit to heat the water, rather than relying directly on electricity. This allows hot water to be produced more efficiently.

The intelligent management of our blinds also helps to reduce heat loss in winter and protect indoor spaces from external heat in summer. In the event of strong winds, the blinds are automatically raised to protect the installations.

Preserving Water and Reducing Waste

We are committed to preserving water resources. Our taps and showers are equipped with water-saving aerators, helping to reduce water consumption while maintaining our guests’ comfort.

We also encourage our guests to reduce the frequency of linen and towel changes during their stay, should they wish to do so.

In St-Sulpice, our tap water comes from Lake Geneva and is treated locally. Of excellent quality, it is a simple and sustainable alternative to bottled water. To reduce single-use packaging and avoid unnecessary waste, we generally do not provide bottled water in our rooms. Glasses are provided so that our guests can enjoy this pure and refreshing local water directly from the tap.

To avoid unnecessary energy consumption, our minibars are unplugged by default. They can of course be switched on upon request.

Sorting, Recycling and Reusing

We pay particular attention to the sorting and recovery of waste throughout our hotel. We actively sort different categories of waste, including organic waste, paper, glass, batteries and other recyclable materials.

We work with the Bader Group for recycling, the recovery of materials and the management of transportation related to their collection.

Our used cooking oils are collected by Bio Huiles, which processes them before sending them to BE8, where they are transformed into biodiesel. Our organic waste is converted into compost by Axpo Biomasse in Chavornay. These various initiatives allow us to give our waste a second life, promote the recovery of materials and contribute to a more circular economy.

Our approach is based on concrete actions integrated into our daily operations, with one simple objective: to reduce our environmental impact while continuing to offer our guests a comfortable and high-quality stay.

More Responsible Lighting and Equipment

The entire hotel is equipped with LED lighting, including our exterior signage. When replacing electrical equipment, we also prioritise more energy-efficient appliances in order to gradually reduce our electricity consumption.
